Matrix Environmental Policy

Objective
To continually improve our environmental performance by:
1. Complying with applicable laws and other requirements both legal and voluntary.
2. Establishing policies and objectives that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with alternative products or services that serve the same purpose.
3. Helping our clients meet their environmental goals and objectives.

Matrix Sustainability Principles
Matrix is committed to developing and maintaining an environment that enhances human health and fosters a transition toward sustainability. Sustainability should be advanced through research, analysis, and experience gained over time. To that end, Matrix is committed to continuous improvement in:

• Demonstrating corporate practices that promote sustainability, including measures to increase efficiency and use of renewable resources, and to decrease production of waste and hazardous materials, both in our own operations and in those of its suppliers.
• Promoting health, productivity, and safety in the built environments that we maintain through the use of best practices.
• Avoid the unnecessary use of hazardous materials and processes and to take all reasonable steps to prevent damage to either public or ecological health where such materials are in essential use.
• Use recycled and recyclable materials where appropriate; choosing products and suppliers which minimize negative environmental impacts, thereby promoting sustainable development.
• Developing planning tools to enable comparative analysis of sustainability implications and to support long-term economic, environmental, and socially responsible decision-making.
• Encouraging environmental inquiry and learning throughout our organization.
• Establishing indicators for sustainability that will enable monitoring reporting and continuous improvement.
• Increase awareness of environmental responsibilities among staff.
  

Responsibility
The primary responsibility for implementation of this policy lies with the Chief Executive Officer, senior management team, and corporate sustainability officer.
